About Our Center

Welcome to Music Together of West Hartford and Farmington Valley! We’re proud to be the top spot for kids’ music classes in the area.

Our center was established in 2005 by Shelley Mendoza, starting with one class location and a close-knit community of families who sought the high-quality early childhood music education experience that the Music Together® program is known for worldwide. With Shelley's heartfelt leadership and teaching, the local Music Together community grew to become a local gem in the offerings for families with babies, toddlers and young children.

In 2010, Shelley passed the torch to Catherine Denmead ("Miss Catherine"), a West Hartford native, musician and mother with a dream of creating connections amongst people and within families through music. Under Catherine's leadership, our center has grown to serve over 200 families at four class locations in West Hartford and Farmington Valley. Once a family joins our program, the personalized attention and love for each child, parent, caregiver, grandparent, and extended family is immediately felt. Families have a home at Music Together of West Hartford and Farmington Valley – first sounds, first steps, first words, first notes and melodies are experienced in the context of the mini-community we create in each class, semester after semester.

Today, with a staff of four passionate and highly-trained early childhood music specialists teaching the Music Together program at our center, our greatest joy comes from seeing children and the grown-ups who love them create loving, lasting memories through shared music-making.
