  • A set of family materials, including a professional recording of the songs we're learning in class (rotates each session) accessed digitally through the Hello Everybody app and the online Family Music Zone® (optional CD by request) as well as a beautifully illustrated songbook corresponding to the song collection. Complementary full song notation booklet upon request.
  • A quarterly e-newsletter and access to the informative national Music Together® website.
  • For new families, a booklet entitled “Music and Your Child: A Guide for Parents and Caregivers.”

Tuition Notes:

  • A one-time $15 registration fee is applied to tuition for families who are new to our center.
  • Sibling rate applies to a sibling registered for the same class. It is not meant for cousins, nanny-share situations, friends of enrolled children, or others. Each family is asked to enroll their own children on their own account. Please note: Infant siblings under 9 months (as of the first day of class) are free in the same class with a registered sibling. However, we do need to have the infants noted on class rosters, so please register your baby! You will not be charged for them at checkout. Third or more siblings are free.
  • For any siblings over 9 months or under 6 years old who will attend only on occasion, please text us at (860) 730-1300 with the date(s), the child's full name and date of birth. A $15 per class drop-in fee will apply. Siblings under 9 months and over 6 years of age are welcome to drop in on a complementary basis, but we appreciate a heads-up via text if possible!
  • If you would like to attend more than one weekly class, we offer a 50% discount on the second (or third) weekly class. Please contact us so that we may assist you in adding an additional class at the discounted rate.

Class Policies:

Location

Class Size

  • Classes are limited to a maximum of 12 families
  • We recommend a maximum of two adults per family. If you have a special circumstance and would like to bring more than two adults one day (visiting grandparents, etc.) please notify us in advance (24 hours notice, please).

Mask Policy

  • Masks are optional* for all attendees, however we ask all families to follow the CDC guidelines in the event of Covid-19 exposure or infection.
  • Please note that our teachers may choose to wear a mask at their discretion.

* Please note that we will follow any mask mandate changes that may go into effect in our area.

Classrooms

  • St. James and Mandell JCC locations: floor mats provide cushioning. Families are welcome to bring a blanket and place it over the mat if desired.
  • Beth Israel location: wall to wall carpeting and families sit comfortably around a large circle on the floor. Families are welcome to bring a blanket and place it over the mat if desired.
  • Many parents and caregivers feel comfortable (post-pandemic) allowing their little ones to interact freely with other children and adults during class. We are respectful of each family's comfort level and support a judgement-free atmosphere.
  • We ask all of our parents and caregivers to be active participants during class – not only in the music-making, but in helping everyone to feel safe and comfortable participating in this dynamic, musical experience together. We always work to cultivate engaged, kind and considerate mini-communities in each of our classes and appreciate you being part of this effort!
  • Please be extra diligent about listening to the music and learning the songs of the current collection – it will help you and your child connect to the class experience more deeply.

What to Bring

  • We will be providing instruments and props for each family at every class. All instruments will be safely and effectively disinfected between use. If you would like to order some instruments for home that are commonly used in the Music Together program around the globe, we suggest the Family Instrument Set on the Music Together national website store.
  • Please do not bring food and drinks into the classroom. Nursing and bottle feeding are always welcome.
  • St. James location: you may wish to bring grippy socks for your child(ren) or let them go barefoot as the laminate floors may be somewhat slippery in regular sock feet.
  • Please refrain from using your cell phone during class. If you'd like to take a quick photo or video of you and/or your child during class, please do so quickly and limit it to your family members only. Then be sure to put your phone away so as not to disengage from class with your child!
  • Your positive, playful, musical self and your love of being with your child, family and friends!

Bathroom

  • There are clean bathrooms with changing table available to our class attendees at all of our locations.

Absences & Make-Ups

  • If you need to miss class due to illness or conflict, please mark your absence in advance in the Family Portalthereby automatically making any vacant spots available for a family needing a make-up spot.
  • We offer unlimited make-ups (space permitting) on an as-needed basis. These must be reserved in advance in the Family Portal on our website and you must have marked your absence(s) in advance.
